Poder Latinx
Based in Hanford, the Kings County’s seat, California's Poder Latinx is dedicated to empowering the Latinx community through civic engagement, leadership development, and issue advocacy. Their work is centered on three key issues:
Environmental Justice
Immigrant Justice
Economic Justice
Created and incubated by Tides Foundation in 2023, with a staff of three led by an experienced Central Valley leader, their work encompasses both partisan and nonpartisan work. They integrate voter registration, issue-based education, leadership development, and narrative transformation, equipping Latinx communities with the tools needed to be agents of change. Poder Latinx California has already achieved important strides in expanding political power and community engagement, including registering over 3,500 new voters through strong partnerships with local community colleges and high schools, especially
in Fresno, Tulare and Madera counties, where high school teachers played a crucial role.
This work positioned Poder Latinx to continue making a lasting impact in California's political landscape in future cycles, strengthening Latinx civic participation and ensuring that our communities are heard at every level of government.
