Valley Voices
Valley Voices is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization established in 2019 to provide education, resources and support to increase political awareness and participation by underserved and overlooked communities in Kings County. With a majority bilingual staff, Valley Voices prioritizes outreach to Spanish-speakers who are currently not civically engaged. The organization works specifically with new voters, including young and recently naturalized citizens, to empower them to vote, be heard and be counted.
Valley Voices focuses on canvassing, voter registration, advocating for more accurate representation of the citizens of Kings County, and addressing other emerging needs of their community members.
Recognizing that the COVID-19 pandemic hit Kings County hard, Valley Voices added COVID-19 outreach to their voter registration work at a local swap meet. By offering COVID-19 information and assistance, and, more recently, pop-up clinics for COVID vaccinations, Valley Voices has become a trusted messenger to the low-income, Latino communities in the area.
With Valley Voices presence in Kings County, residents can get help staying safe — and get information on how to have a voice ensuring their community isn’t left behind in the future by registering to vote and accessing other community resources.
